For all discussion regarding beauty products!

I have been battling mild acne all my life (so annoying!) and still have yet to find something that really works and keeps my skin good long term. I do like the wonderbar, but I still get some breakouts with it, so I recently purchased the Clarasonic Mia2. By recently, I mean on Monday, so I have been using it 2 times a day since then. So far I really like it - my skin feels clean and smooth and my breakouts are clearing up. I am expecting to break out again once my skin adjusts to it and then clear up (hopefully for good!). Anyone have or use one of the Clarasonics? The reviews are really good and it's nice to use your own cleanser with it!

I looove my clarisonic. But I read somewhere you can 'over-exfoliate' your skin, and cause more irritation. I think i use mine once a day, sometimes every other now that I've had it for so long. Your skin should break out again in a couple weeks once it brings all that gunk to the surface (mine did--i got cysts and hard goo that would come out of my pores...disssssgusting. it was all hard/dried up crud) but i haven't had any issues since! I am getting more acne now b/c of my hormones, and i've been doing salicylic acid peels once a week at home (which can dry out my skin, but i'm noticing an improvement on my chin, where i was getting them--i bought the stuff off amazon and it's good for acne)) and i use an oil based cleanser with my clarisonic. I really love mine, though! i have the little travel one cuz it was cheaper. I get a lot of compliments on my skin so i'm sure it's a big factor!

Are people telling you that you're glowing, ejs?

haha, no. Only one of my friends was like, "Um, something is different....but i don't know what..." but if by glowy skin, they mean pimply and oily, then that's what i have right now :p

(i've only told maybe three of my IRL friends and a bunch of internet friends. That's it)

My skin broke out really bad this week  When I'm on BCP, my skin looks great, but when I'm off, it gets gross, including my neck and collar bone. It hasn't been too bad though, surprisingly, until this week. Lame. MIL wanted to make me Chinese herbal tea at one point... NO THANKS!

Does anybody have a recommendation for a good tinted moisturizer? I hate Aveeno, and that seemed to be the only one I could find in Target this week. There's a small Sephora annex in the local JC Penney where I might find something nicer. I'm not opposed to ordering something online either.

I've used this one by Covergirl and it's pretty good. I got it at a Target when I was in the US a few years ago.

I was afraid someone would say that. Laura Mercier is pricey, but I love everything I've tried from them.

I've been liking the Maybeline BB Cream, which is really just tinted moisturizer in "on trend" packaging.

I had a clairsonic but it was the worst hting I ever did to my skin. I've thought about trying it again, but now I can't find the unit, only the charger!

I have knocked down my clarisonic usage to once a day, as per many recommendations online. My skin feels quite nice still. I have had a few tiny breakouts, but nothing crazy or unexpected. I still really like it!

I have added in the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate (I am just using a sample for now until I decide if I like it or not). So far so good! I use it at night and it makes my skin so nice and soft. It smells good, which is a plus. I have also noticed that my face has not been as oily during the day since I have started using it, which is really awesome. I didn't have a good night moisturizer because so many are heavy and make my skin oilier, which is exactly what I don't want. This stuff seems to be working well with me so far. I'm going to use the sample up and then decide - I think it will be enough for the next week, so I will see how my face is doing then.

I have a clarisonic too that I use once a day. I had the Olay $40 knockoff one, and it was so crappy. I went through 2 of them in 6 months. The clarisonic is pricy but so worth it.

What do chickens use for clogged pores? I don't know what is up with my skin, but it's driving me crazy. I don't get zits,,but my chin has so many clogged pores and I'm stumped.

I just bought waterproof mascara. Primarily for the wedding, but also for everyday use. I tried it today, but am having a hard time taking it off - I tried my generic brand eye makeup remover from CVS and Vaseline, and they were minimally helpful. Suggestions?

I think you need a specific waterproof eye makeup remover.

I use babby oil or coconut oil.

I use Sephora's waterproof eye makeup remover. Clinique has one, too, but it's twice as expensive. You definitely can't use regular eye makeup remover...I saturate a pad, hold it to my eye for about 10 seconds, then wipe.

I have a special remove for waterproof and tough-to-remove eye makeup. However, I really wouldn't recommend that you wear a waterproof mascara every day - it's very drying and your eyelashes will eventually suffer. I used to wear it all the time in high school, and my lashes fell out like crazy. It really isn't formulated for daily use. Now I only use it when I know I'm going to need it.

Interesting--i use waterproof every day and i don't feel like i lose lashes. Mine are short and thin anyways (i''m blaming the asian genes) but I haven't had issues with it, either. Regular mascara does NOT stay on me. I get raccoon eyes about 8 hours in, and I'd look like a mess at the gym, too. Regular mascara actually rubs off onto my eye bone, because i don't have the depth there that white people do :p

Same here, and it's def those asian genes! Also waterproof mascara is better for holding the curl in your lashes, which is vital when your lashes are straight little wisps like mine.
