I just watched the pilot last night since so many chickens recommended it. It was hard not to move on to the next one, but it was late so I decided I'd better not. I'm excited to get through the rest.

99% positive I saw an interview where they confirmed it'll be a continuation. They want to be able to watch the kids grow up on screen (like Harry Potter) so they're supposed to be set a year apart.

We're watching "The Great British Baking Show," which is delightful.

The last episode they were complaining because it was so hot and films in a tent. It was 25/77 degrees. Even with humidity that is not that hot.

    I LOVE THAT SHOW

Are you watching on PBS? It's the one with Tamal, Ian, Nadiya etc? I'm addicted to this show but my cousin who watches it here says it's that one, which I already saw on the BBC last year. I made A describe last one's episode to me in great detail over the phone today.

ETA I just realized this is the netflix thread, so it's probably an even older series than 2015. Whatever, they're all great.

You're so acculturated, it's called a season, not a series, silly. There's only one season on Netflix, and the bakers' names that I remember right now are a teenager named Martha, Nancy, and a grandma-type named Diana? And Luis.

I think there's a PBS app that I might check out.

Oh okay, I think I watched that one on Netflix. When I say seasons about British shows, A laughs at me a little (not in an unkind way) so for the British ones I tend to say series, and season for American shows. The only thing that is difficult is the fact that "series finale" means different things. I thought Downton was ending like 3 years ago because of that, and was really pleasantly surprised that it came back the following year.

I get that, I just like to be an obnoxious American sometimes. I would have been so sad and confused if I confused season/series finale, but the only other British show I watch is Doctor Who.

77 would be really hot in a tent with ovens going!

That's about when it starts getting uncomfortable in the house if there's not a breeze going through.

The new series started last night. So much excite.

The ovens adding to the heat is a good point, plus they were baking something with ice cream. But I still contend that Brits are silly. And some of the food is questionable.

The ice cream ones (I think there have been a couple) are my favorite, no one is good at it.

Edit: except the time they had to make those Victorian fondant tennis court cakes. That was the funniest technical challenge ever.

I'm watching the fifth season OUAT. I'm kind of sad at how bad this show became. It started off pretty interesting. Then it became cheesy fun. Now it's just awful. Charming just stands around like a fucking tool and Snow is totally useless. I love Robert Carlyle. He's the only reason I'm still watching, and he's in a coma like a daytime soap opera. WTF. I'm also really irritated by the fact they worked characters from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest into this. That book is not a fairy tale, and doesn't belong with this silly bullshit.

Just watched the first episode of Stranger Things. I REALLY like it, but of course B was like, "It gets scarier!" Does it? I can already see myself 'seeing' the creature thing as I walk to the T in the dark going to my AM workouts...

I mean, after watching the first episode I got weirded out by a sound in the backyard and turned on the alarm, which we don't usually do. Then we stopped watching after dark and that helped.

I must be dead on the inside because I can watch scary movies and crime documentaries right before bed, in the dark all alone and not have any trouble sleeping.

I did have a nightmare the other day that my property tax doubled though :?:

It's not very scary, @Fitz - more like creepy? It's more X-Files than Friday the 13th.

I didn't find it scary at all after the first episode. @Fitz I think thats the scariest one. There are a few other jumpy parts but the episodes are so enthralling as a whole you forget about the small scary moments. I would say suspenseful over scary.

  22. BigFatGoalie

Yeah, I think the first episode is the scariest. But it's definitely creepy and I couldn't watch it by myself.

Oh good. I get scared BY creepy, so I don't really differentiate between the two. I'm glad B is watching it; I would never watch it by myself.

That show had so much potential and then failed so hard. The Frozen storyline was painful. I missed about half the episodes last season but when I would remember to watch one it felt like they had accomplished nothing in the episodes I didn't see. So disappointing.

I watched until about halfway through last season. I just didn't care enough to start watching again after the winter break.
